The sector of “Sukanal” Scientific-Research and Design Institute for ground and water studies determines physical and physical-mechanical features (natural moisture, density, specific weight, fluidity and rolling limits, porosity, maximal molecular water retaining, screeining rate, absoption, solution, rock compaction-proctor, settling and swelling test, single arrow and three angle compaction test, granularmetric content, natural decline angle, relocation test etc.) of ground samples found during enginnering geological surveys and hydrological investigation, determines their chemical content (general volume of salts with easy and medium dissolution, dry sediment, carbonates, sulphates, chlorides, hardness-general and permanent, hydrogen index-pH, soluble cations, general chemical content), potential contamination of rivers lakes and other water basin and fulfills balance calculation. At the same time the sector assesses ecological status of water resources, conducts their monitoring, forecasts quality changes of surface and ground water, determines effectiveness of existing treatments plants in water supply systems and recovers negative changes taking place at different stages of technological process, studies sand and reagents used in technological processes of water treatment plants with experimental methods, investigates waters and sedimentations with unknown origin.

2. Determine chemical constitution of soil:

– Determine exposure limit of water environment to reinforced concrete facilities;

3. Microbiological determination of soil (determine microorganism attacking water supply facilities and pipes).

4. Study water resources:

– Observation of water quality changes depending on environmental factors and seasonal effects;

– Conduct sanitary-toxical monitoring, study forecasting of possible change;

–  For the purpose of setting technical guidelines carry out technical analysis of water in treatment plants, facilities (stage by stage) and  water supply networks to be designed;
